NASA project

A few months ago, I had the chance to work on an illustration project with NASA.
The theme was "Across the universe" and it treated -in a fairly lyrical manner- mainly of black holes and their interaction with surrounding celestial bodies. I learned a lot about these unfathomable forces of the universe.
In the final version, you can see the monumental accretion disk of the black hole slowly but surely swallowing the matter and energy of a neutron star, while spewing out a jet of debris from the event horizon at the center.
In the back, you can notice a Supernova Remnant after its massive explosion on the left, a different black hole and a few galaxies on the right.
It's been a fascinating project, offering for a moment a glimpse into the astounding awesomeness of the universe and our place in it.
